21 OCTAYNE - the composed sound of the 21st century

Düsseldorf, 23.03.2011. Accomplished songwriters and versatile performers Hagen Grohe (The Joe Perry Project), Marco Wriedt (Axxis), Andrew Lauer (Mel Gaynor) and Alexander Landenburg (Axxis) have founded 21 OCTAYNE. The band present daily showcase concerts at this year’s Frankfurt Music Fair in the GEWA Soundroom, hall 3.0 E14. 21 OCTAYNE will also be appearing on the Agora Stage on Friday 13:30 – 14.00. The programme will focus on the songs from their first album „Turn The World“. These songs, along with background information and images will be available on a USB stick for industry partners and interested parties at the GEWA stand. 21 OCTAYNE fall into the „rock“ genre but musical diversity is very important to them.

21 OCTAYNE’s sound appeals to a very wide group. With their modern production the band appeals not only to fans of contemporary rock music but also to lovers of pop and ballads. The attractiveness of 21 OCTAYNE’s music lies in its supposed simplicity coupled with virtuoso details. Guitarist Marco Wriedt wishes to bring guitar solos back to mainstream awareness. For the band it“s not about reviving the 1980s but instead a new awareness of musical aesthetics.

Their individual worldwide experience through other projects has influenced 21 OCTAYNE. Guitarist Marco Wriedt, who also works as a guitar tutor in addition to his duties in the band, said „We are giving 21 OCTAYNE 168%“. Drummer Alexander Landenburg also works in the teaching field as well as having many live obligations (Annihilator, Stratovarius, amongst others). Singer Hagen Grohe has been the permanent lead singer of „The Joe Perry Project“, the project of Aerosmith legend Joe Perry, since 2009. The trained audio engineer began his musical career at 16 as a singer and bassist in his Palatinate homeland where he quickly rose to be a regional star. Since then he has become an international rock singer in great demand with his variable, large vocal range. Californian born bassist Andrew Lauer found his instrument somewhat later and then progressed at double speed. For years he has impressed his listeners with an incredible groove, rousing solos and a strong stage presence – abilities which he is currently demonstrating in the solo project of Simple Minds drummer Mel Gaynor. He also continues to make a name for himself performing live at numerous international fairs and shows.

For the production of „Turn The World“ the four used producer Ingo Czajkowski of VPS-Studios in Hamm, who has a knack for clever arrangements. The down-to-earth songs on the album follow age-old traditions but also continuously surprise the listener with new trends. 21 OCTAYNE have the motto: Expect the unexpected. The band presents „Turn The World“ exclusively at the Frankfurt Music Fair; the album is also available from the beginning of May as a digital download from popular download portals.
